Flea market at Mauerpark<\/h2>\n

Mauerpark is in the Prenzlauer Berg district\u2014right where the Berlin Wall ran until 1989. It stretches for about two kilometres and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. <\/p>\n

A flea market has been held every Sunday on Bernauer Stra\u00dfe since 2004, and it\u2019s part of what makes the park so popular. There are more than 400 stalls. Unlike other flea markets, though, they\u2019re not run by too many professional vendors. Instead, private sellers offer items they no longer need. So you\u2019ll rarely find antiques\u2014rather, it\u2019s a small but great selection from people in the neighbourhood. <\/p>\n

Nowkoelln Flowmarkt<\/h2>\n

The Nowkoelln Flowmarkt definitely has the most unusual name on our list of the best flea markets in Berlin. It\u2019s clearly located in the Neuk\u00f6lln district\u2014more precisely, on Maybachufer by the Landwehr Canal. The waterside location is a draw in itself. On top of that, there\u2019s always music playing at the Flowmarkt. From time to time, performance artists show what they can do, and there are culinary specialties on offer too. <\/p>\n

When it comes to what\u2019s on offer at the stalls, the Flowmarkt is a true art market. Many vendors sell pieces they\u2019ve made themselves. Among the treasures you\u2019ll find, for example, printed T-shirts, as well as jewellery and porcelain. So if you\u2019re into design, the Flowmarkt is right up your street. <\/p>\n

Just make sure you pick the right date for your flea market visit. The Nowkoelln Flowmarkt only takes place every other Sunday. So it\u2019s best to check the website so you don\u2019t end up heading back to the EastSeven Hostel empty-handed. <\/p>\n

RAW flea market<\/h2>\n

The abbreviation RAW stands for “Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk”. Over time, various clubs, bars, and shops have moved into the site in Friedrichshain. You can also see different exhibitions in the buildings on the RAW site. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why art doesn\u2019t miss out at the flea market either, which takes place every Sunday on the RAW site. The selection of bric-a-brac is varied: there are clothes, antiques, jewellery, and much more. So as you wander around the flea market, you\u2019re sure to find something you like\u2014and then you can haggle with the seller over the price. <\/p>\n

Arkonaplatz flea market<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The flea market at Arkonaplatz in Mitte has been around since 1990. The square (which, by the way, isn\u2019t far from Mauerpark) has a certain historical significance anyway. One of Berlin\u2019s oldest school buildings can be found here: the primary school at Arkonaplatz. There\u2019s also a fountain on the square that used to be operated by a hand pump. <\/p>\n

The flea market held every Sunday at Arkonaplatz mainly offers clothes, books, and records. Some vendors also sell furniture and other larger items. If you go to the flea market with kids, you can reward them after browsing with a visit to the lovely playground, which is also located at Arkonaplatz. <\/p>\n
