A hostel for female travellers in Berlin

Germany’s capital, Berlin, is one of the country’s most popular travel destinations. Plenty of hostels in the city offer accommodation for travellers. But especially as a woman, you might wonder whether staying in a mixed dorm is the right choice. Our guest Maria shares her experiences with us and explains why EastSeven is the perfect hostel for female guests in Berlin.

Sleeping in hostels as a woman – a good idea?

I’ve been to many places around the world, but one destination has always had a special pull for me. At the same time, I’m not a big fan of hotels and their often rather pretentious image. Most of the time I travel with a backpack, so I’m not exactly the most popular guest in many hotels. When I finally got to fulfil my dream of a trip to Berlin, I knew I definitely wanted to stay in a hostel.

Of course, I got plenty of well-meant advice from almost all my friends not to stay in a hostel as a woman. But the choice of affordable hotels in the capital leaves a lot to be desired—especially if you want to stay as central as possible. So despite all the advice against it, I decided to make a hostel my base for my visit to Berlin.

Berlin, Berlin, I’m going to Berlin

A sightseeing tour of the famous landmarks, enjoying a coffee by the Spree, a night out in Berlin’s notorious nightlife, going up the TV Tower: there was so much I’d planned for my trip to Berlin. Once my itinerary was set, all I needed was the right place to stay.

While looking for a suitable hostel in Berlin, I came across EastSeven. It wasn’t just the photos online and the great prices, but above all the location in the trendy Prenzlauer Berg district that convinced me to book a room at EastSeven.

Thanks to EastSeven’s 24/7 self check-in, the almost five-hour delay on my train journey to Berlin luckily wasn’t a problem. Checked in and settled into a fairly spacious dorm room, I made myself comfortable first to recharge for the next day. The next morning, the shared kitchen was already pretty busy when I finally wanted to start my day. Luckily, the free muesli breakfast gave me plenty of energy for the day ahead.

EastSeven Berlin: my first choice for women travelling

Berlin has so much to offer that you definitely want a place to stay where you can recharge for your adventures in the city. EastSeven gave me more than just accommodation on my trip. It felt like a second home during my time in Berlin.

Not only did I feel a warm, family-like atmosphere throughout the hostel from the very beginning. Especially at the weekly community evenings and through cooking together in the shared kitchen, I met lots of great new people—people I probably would never have met in a regular hotel.
