They’ll be happy to share insider tips on what you absolutely shouldn’t miss in Berlin. So you’re in the best hands when you choose our hostel for your stay. And there are plenty more great reasons to stay with us. We’ve put together the most important ones for you.

5 reasons why EastSeven is your perfect place to stay in Berlin
EastSeven isn’t a 5-star hotel—we know that. And we don’t want to be. We know our guests aren’t looking for luxury, but for a pleasant stay where they feel that we genuinely care.
And we want to offer our guests the best value for money you can get at a hostel in Berlin.
On top of that, here are the following 5 outstanding reasons why our place is ideal for your visit to our beautiful capital.
1. Central location in trendy Prenzlauer Berg
The location of our hostel is unbeatable. You’ll find us at Schwedter Straße 7—just 80 meters from Senefelder Platz U-Bahn station. From there, it’s only 2 stops on the U2 to Alexanderplatz, probably the city’s best-known square, with its iconic TV Tower.
With the U-Bahn right by our hostel, you’re perfectly connected to lots of other transport options. You can reach the Central Bus Station just as quickly as various long-distance train stations and the airport.
So for getting to Berlin, our hostel is perfect. And if you want to explore the city, you can easily get to all kinds of places from here. Depending on the time of day, for example, it takes only about half an hour to get from EastSeven to the Brandenburg Gate.
If you’re planning a day trip to Brandenburg, our ideal location will help with that too.
But you don’t have to go far to experience something. Right outside our hostel, you’ll find plenty of trendy cafés, bars, and other hotspots where you can have a great time.
So you can start dreaming and get inspired, we’ve put together the 9 best cafés and the 10 coolest bars near EastSeven. You should also check out our post on 9 restaurants in our area that are well worth a visit.
2. Comfortable rooms and maximum flexibility
Now let’s take a look at our hostel facilities, which are another great reason to book a room or a place to stay with us for your next trip to the capital. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is included in our prices, as is secure luggage storage.
You can look forward to a wide range of room options. You can book not only a bed in a typical hostel dorm, but also a double room or a family room. You can also book a double room all to yourself—turning it into a single room.
Our double rooms come with either a double bed or a bunk bed—depending on whether you’re traveling with your partner or with a friend.
Our family rooms have one double bed and one single bed. That makes them ideal for families of three with an older child, but also for three adults vacationing together in Berlin.
We offer dorm rooms with 4, 6, and 10 beds, with the 6-bed room being women-only. Our dorms are equipped with bunk beds, including a locker under the bed for your personal belongings. You’ll also have USB ports and a reading light right at your bed.
Depending on the size and setup of the dorm rooms, seating is available.
You’re not only flexible when choosing a room at EastSeven, but also when it comes to check-in. We offer 24/7 check-in. So if your train to Berlin is delayed or you get stuck in traffic, you don’t need to stress.
With self check-in, you can come and go whenever it fits your schedule. You can even arrive before your bed is ready and make yourself comfortable in our common areas.
By the way, we offer two booking options:
- If you don’t have a fixed travel plan, you can choose our flexible rate. That gives you the option to cancel your stay free of charge up to 72 hours before your planned arrival.
- You’ll get the lowest price for your stay if you book without the option to cancel.
So you’re also maximally flexible when booking with us.

3. Cozy common areas and practical comfort
Because we really value the sense of community among our guests, we offer various shared spaces—both inside the building and outdoors.
One special feature you’ll find in only a few hostels across Berlin is our self-catering kitchen. As it should be, it’s fully equipped. The kitchen includes a stove, oven, and microwave, among other things.
So you can enjoy your meals in a social way, we also have a dining room. You can also hang out in the living room, meet other travelers, and strike up a conversation.
Especially in summer, our garden is a very popular alternative to the living and dining room. In the fresh air you can eat, read, and chat—and you’ll quickly forget you’re right in the middle of a big city.
As is typical for a hostel, guests in all rooms use shared bathrooms; we have men’s and women’s bathrooms as well as gender-neutral bathrooms. So you get the greatest possible privacy.
4. Community events and authentic Berlin vibes
What would a good hostel be without shared events? At EastSeven, you can look forward to regular activities where our guests can get to know each other better. These include weekly BBQ evenings in our garden and Family Dinners, which we host in our shared kitchen at least twice a week.
You can also look forward to lots of fun with our Supper Club, movie nights, PlayStation evenings, and many more events where we warmly welcome you and everyone else staying at EastSeven.
For a friendly, family-like atmosphere, you can also use the board games and puzzles available in the shared living room. A great game or doing a puzzle together might even lead to new friendships.
There’s also a TV in the living room that all our guests can use.

5. Enjoyment and culinary extras included
A hearty muesli breakfast is included in the prices for our rooms and accommodation. It gives you energy right after you wake up, so you can head out and explore the capital.
At least twice a week, we also host our Family Dinner—a shared evening meal prepared by our hostel chef. Over delicious food, you can meet the other guests and chat with them.
Thanks to our shared kitchen, you can also cook for yourself anytime. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. You can then enjoy your food in the living room or dining room—or make yourself comfortable in the quiet lounge in our garden.
For atmospheric summer evenings, there’s also a spot for grilling in the garden.

Practical insider tips for your stay at EastSeven
If you’re coming to Berlin by car, parking options will be important to you. EastSeven doesn’t have its own parking spaces, but you can park on the street near our hostel. Parking fees apply.
A parking ticket in our neighborhood costs €4 for 2 hours. To pay, you can use a parking meter on the street or reserve your parking via an app. The app option is especially convenient because it gives you more flexibility and lets you extend your parking time without having to go back to the machine.
You can use the following apps to pay parking fees:
- EasyPark
- PayByPhone
- Parkster
The apps are available for free on iPhone and Android.
You don’t have to pay parking fees if you’re in Berlin on a weekend or public holiday. Also, no fees apply from midnight to 9 AM.
Still, you should do the math to see whether it might be cheaper to come to our capital by another means of transport. Thanks to our hostel’s great location, you can reach us quickly on the U2 or by tram.
By the way, you don’t need to worry about packing towels for your stay with us. If you book your accommodation directly on our website, we’ll provide towels free of charge. That saves space in your suitcase, backpack, or travel bag.
We’d also like to remind you that you can book your room or stay with us at a flexible rate. That gives you the option to cancel your stay free of charge up to three days before arrival. This is especially handy if you don’t yet know exactly when you want to travel to Berlin.
Special features: What makes EastSeven different from other hostels
We’ve deliberately chosen not to be a party hostel. So if you want to party around the clock, we’re unfortunately not the right place for you. But we’ll be happy to recommend a few clubs in Berlin where you can go all out—before you fall into bed with us, exhausted but happy.
At EastSeven, we see ourselves as an adults-only hostel with a calm, relaxed atmosphere. That’s why we prefer not to host families with small children. But if you want to enjoy a great stay in Berlin with friends, our hostel is perfect.
And if you’d like to meet new people while staying in the capital, you’ll find the best conditions at EastSeven. People from all over the world book rooms and beds with us. That way, you’ll come into contact with a wide range of cultures and customs.
Thanks to our shared kitchen—one of our hostel’s special features and a clear unique selling point—you can cook typical dishes from your home country with your new friends. Afterwards, you can enjoy them in the common areas or in our cozy garden.
Because things are so relaxed here, you can use our common areas and garden on the day you check in—no matter when your room or bed is ready. You can also leave your bags in our luggage storage if you have an appointment or want to head into the city center.
Even on the day you check out, you can still hang out in our hostel’s common areas. So even after check-out, you can cook in the kitchen, watch TV in the living room, or relax in the garden. You’re also welcome to use our luggage storage.
During your stay with us, our practical door-code system means you’ll of course have access to the building and your accommodation at any time. And there’s no risk of losing a key or card—because we don’t use them.
