Berlin is known for its exciting club culture. The capital is home to legendary clubs such as Berghain, Sisyphos and Watergate. While you’re staying with us at EastSeven, you might feel like throwing yourself into Berlin’s nightlife, dancing to techno beats and partying. But when can the party start? When do Berlin clubs open?

Here we tell you when the city’s most popular clubs open their doors. Because we at Hostel EastSeven want you to have a great time in our city, discover cool locations and meet nice people.

When does Berghain open?

Berghain is probably the best-known club in Berlin and has also earned a legendary reputation internationally. Exciting events take place here on a regular basis, with well-known DJs playing and getting the dance floor shaking.

If such an event is coming up, you can find the time it starts on the club’s website. In most cases, club events start at 10 pm, but they can also start earlier.

Club night also takes place every Saturday. It traditionally starts at 11:59 pm, one minute before midnight. But that doesn’t mean you have to be at the door on time to get into the club as early as possible.

Berghain is known for its very long parties. A duration of 24 hours is not uncommon, sometimes it can take until Monday morning before the club night comes to an end.

When does Sisyphos open?

Sisyphos has a similarly illustrious reputation to Berghain. This club is also known all over the world and is popular with Berliners and tourists alike.

If you are interested in Greek mythology, you will certainly be familiar with the club’s namesake. Because the mythological Sisyphus tricked the gods several times, he was condemned to roll a heavy stone up a mountain over and over again.

Of course, you don’t have to do this at Club Sisyphus. And yet the parties resemble the task of the man who gave the club its name: you party and party and party.

You can enter the club from Friday at 10 pm and it stays open until Monday – sometimes until midday. So you can dance and enjoy the music for 60 hours. In between, you can always take a break in the huts on the club grounds.

You can also get a stamp on your hand and go home. Once you’ve had a good night’s sleep or rested long enough, you can simply come back to the club.

When does Watergate open?

If you don’t necessarily want to party at the weekend, Watergate could be your first port of call among Berlin’s clubs. The location is also known for hosting wild parties during the week.

Events regularly take place on Mondays and/or Thursdays. Admission is usually at 11 pm and the parties last until the early hours of the morning.

But you can also party at Watergate at the weekend. There is usually a party on Friday and Saturday. Even then, admission starts at 11 pm and the event lasts until the next morning.

Incidentally, the Watergate owes its name to its location directly on the River Spree. If you want to have a view of the river while dancing, you should give preference to the Waterfloor. There, a large window front provides a clear view of the water.

Alternatively, you can move to good music from talented DJs on the main floor.

When do other popular Berlin clubs open?

Another popular club in Berlin is Ritter Butzke. You can visit several worthwhile events there throughout the week. The opening hours vary. The best way to find out when you can come clubbing is to check the location’s homepage.

Ritter Butzke usually invites you to dance on Friday and Saturday. Admission usually starts at 10 pm. However, you may also be able to get into the club earlier.

There are three dance floors in the venue. In summer, there is also an outdoor area where you can breathe in the fresh evening air while partying.

In addition to night-time parties, the club is also known for various cultural events. Among other things, the “Spree vom Weizen” poetry slam regularly takes place on the premises. Here, eloquent poets and comedians take the microphone to wild beats and flickering lights.

If you’re interested in this type of event, you can be at the door of the club at 8 pm on these dates.

If you don’t feel like waiting until late in the evening to visit the club, the Klunkerkranich might also be something for you. It often opens its doors in the afternoon or early evening. It is not uncommon for an event at the club to start as early as 5 pm.

This means it’s no problem if you want to attend one of the events that take place during the week and have to get up early the next morning.

Of course, you can also stay longer and enjoy the party until the end. Because the party often doesn’t end until the next morning.

The highlight of the Klunkerkranich is the roof terrace. The location is on the 5th floor of the Neukölln Arkaden. As the sun slowly sets over Berlin, you can dance the next morning away on the roof of the shopping center.
